Guns N’ Roses To “Debut Officially” In Rock Band 2 Music Game

Fans of the hard-rocking group Guns N’ Roses will be able to legally listen one of the tracks in “Chinese Democracy”, the group’s first studio album since 1993.

The song, “Shackler’s Revenge” will be among over 80 songs to be featured in the music game “Rock Band 2″ slated for release in September. This will be the fist time that one of the tracks in Chinese Democracy will be legally released to the public.

Other songs in the XBox 360 platform are by Bob Dylan, Metallica, Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Magedeth, Steve Ray Vaughn, and the Grateful Dead.

Several of Guns N’ Roses songs from the upcoming album recently made it to the Internet but had since been taken down.

A blogger who posted the song on the website Antiquiet, was arrested and is now out on bail. He is to appear in court again on Sept 7.

Reacting to the arrest, Guns N’ Roses says, “Presently, though we don’t support this guy’s actions at that level, our interest is in the original source. We can’t comment publicly at this time as the investigation is ongoing. We appreciate your understanding.”

UPDATE: Guns N’ Roses Upcoming Album “Chinese Democracy”

Update: Cogill has been released on $10,000 bail and will appear again in court on Sept 7.

The hard-rocking, guitar-ripping, Guns N’ Roses will release their first studio album in more than a decade, titled “Chinese Democracy” but unuathorised copies had found their way into the Internet.

On Wednesday, the FBI arrested a 27-year-old man, Kevin Cogill for posting nine tracks of the unreleased album on the Antiquiet website.

The song had since been removed but a good number of people had listened to the kind of music the band were making. Those who have listened to the tracks agreed Chinese Democracy was worth the wait.

Reuters quoted FBI spokesperson, Laura Eimiller as saying that the song had circulated widely.

Meanwhile, “Shackler’s Revenge”, one of the track in Chinese Democracy will appear on the video game “Rock Band 2″, slated for release for the Xbox 360 platform next month, according to the official Guns N’ Roses website.

Meanwhile, here is the group’s rendition of Bob Dylan’s “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door” which converted me into one of the band’s followers.
